The octagonal Cappella dei Principi – or Chapel of the Princes – was first conceived in the 16th century by Cosimo 1 but it was not built until the 17th century by Ferdinand I de’ Medici.

I could see the dome from our terrace – the dome is the defining landmarks of the San Lorenzo neighborhood.
